The Translator ( 1)and Minaret ( 2) by Leila Aboulela (Sudan/United Kingdom) and Concorso ( 3) by Ingy Mubiayi (Egypt/Italy) are three works that demonstrate how the re-positioning of religion functions in women's lives and struggles. No more or not only an element of oppression, religion is portrayed as an element of a new identity for Muslim women who live in Europe.
